DA BEARS!

Although this is a college football blog, I can't help but recognize the fact the my Chicago Bears have made it to the Super Bowl (for the first time in my lifetime, I might add).

Rest In Peace, Mario

Late Saturday night it was reported, and confirmed, that USC placekicker Mario Danelo was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in San Pedro, CA. Mario was just 21 years old. Prayers and thoughts are with the Danelo family during these tough times, and the entire Trojan Family is grieving the loss along with them. Mario was a great kid, and a great Trojan...he will be forever missed.

This is the second tragic loss for the Trojan Family in just 8 months, as Ryan Francis was shot and killed last Mother's Day weekend.

Notre Dame Loses Their Bowl Game...Again

This chart has been floating around the internet for a while, and it just seems logical to post it tonight. I'm not sure who to give credit for this masterful piece of work, but thank you! 9 straight bowl losses for the Irish! Fight on!

Saban to Arizona?

Wednesday morning, Nick Saban was announced as the new head football coach for the University of Alabama. By Wednesday afternoon, reports from Glendale, AZ surfaced that the coach was being heavily pursued as the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, who recently fired coach Dennis Green. Although Saban would not confirm these rumors at his press conference in Tuscaloosa, he did immediately board the private jet that Alabama just purchased for him and flew to Arizona. The offer from Arizona reportedly includes paying out his remaining contract with Alabama, complete control of the franchise, and a bathtub made out of Waterford crystal. More on this story as it develops.

Instructions For Lions' Fans: 2007

Well, despite leading the Detroit Lions to the worst 6-year record in the history of the National Football League (24-72), Matt Millen will be returning as team president in 2007. Millen's teams have lost at least 10 games in each of his six seasons and never finished higher than third in their division, including a 3-13 last place record this season. Millen is in the second year of a five-year contract, and dont be surprised if this is not his last. Millen quoted as saying, "I'll never quit." And for that, he deserves a big Fight on!

Now, as a Bears' fan, I dont usually have any sympathy for the Packers, Lions or Vikings. But seeing as how Lions' fans have been forced to endure one of the worst decades in the history of the NFL, I felt like I should throw some charity their way. I have included (below) instructions on how to numb the pain of this endless losing, and if done correctly, completely erase the memory of the Millen era from you mind.

Michigan Playbook Revealed

I know the announcers said that Michigan only ran two plays...but I thought they were kidding!

2007 Rose Bowl Champs!

Great game by the Trojans - dominating on all sides of the ball. It was great to finally see this talented passing game click on all cylinders - great game by Booty, DJ, SSmith and McFoy! USC-Michigan is the best bowl matchup in all of college football, and I wouldnt mind seeing a regular season series between these two traditional powers in the near future! A great season by the Wolverines, they have a lot to be proud of - and a lot to be excited about for next season!

A special congrats to all of the seniors and departing juniors! Great way to end your careers! Fight on!
